We currently have 7 guinea pigs, and although guinea pigs make great pets for kids, they definitely are a lot of work especially when it comes to cage cleaning. We transitioned to cage liners instead of bedding, since bedding seemed to make its way all over the house, and we wanted something more sustainable.

We have Midwest guinea pig cages, and with cage liners, you simply swap them out when they get dirty.

I received a product sample in exchange for my honest review.

We recently tried the Luftpets Guinea Pig Cage Liner with our guinea pigs, which worked well.

And more recently, we upgraded to a double-layer LuftPets Premium Washable Guinea Pig Cage Liner.

With multiple guinea pigs per cage, a thicker liner is so helpful.

To change the liner, I simply fold it up and shake it out in the trash. Then I shake it outside just to help remove any remaining debris. The nice thing about this liner is that things like hair and hay do not stick to the surface like some other cage liners.

After shaking out the liner, I hand wash it in my utility sink before tossing it in the wash. It has a nice lined backing that is also non-slip, so it helps keep it in place and keeps it from soaking through.

The liner is soft enough to easily go through the wash cycle, and then I hang it to dry. In warmer weather, I put it outside to get some fresh air and let the sun freshen it up.

This liner has a nice added layer of thickness, which is soft and absorbent.

Having guinea pigs means that the cage liner gets dirty pretty quickly. It is nice having a liner that can keep up with the mess!

Overall, this is a great liner to have for your guinea pig cage. This feels extra soft, and I don’t have to worry about things sticking to it and making a mess in the washing machine.

You can find the liners at Luftpets, Amazon, and Shopify.
