UPDATE from their website:
It’s with gratitude and a little sadness that we must tell you our business is now closed.
Things have been so crazy lately, between trying to balance work with everything else. The school year has been incredibly hectic, and my routine is anything but consistent. I had been on a roll with healthy morning smoothies, but lately I just haven’t had the time, energy, or even motivation to get out the blender and create a well-rounded smoothie.
I am always looking for easy solutions for on-the-go, such as a protein shake. Loving Superfoods has a large variety of products that makes your health routine easier.  Their products are convenient, but at the same time you don’t have to sacrifice your health.

Chocolate Bliss
I was excited to try Chocolate Bliss – a raw superfood powder – but in the back of my mind I was thinking about the taste. A lot of shakes I have tried in the past have not tasted very good, and I can’t seem to escape that artificial, strange, or “protein shake” taste. However, the Chocolate Bliss tastes great, and I’m sure it is because the ingredients are natural, without any artificial sweeteners.
This mix of raw superfoods is designed to be a daily, core food for rebuilding and maintaining health, right-sizing your weight, gentle cleansing, mental focus and physical stamina/energy. It can be used as a meal replacement, pick-me-up snack, or cleansing food. Blend this mix of raw superfoods with water and a sweetener for a super-powered chocolate-milk-taste that is raw, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free.
On my busiest mornings, I mix this the Chocolate Bliss with water and their Vanilla Agave, and I’m out the door. (Leaving time to shake it up when I get to work!). I do like the taste a lot better with sweetener. Alone, it has a sort of unsweetened dark chocolate taste, and the sweetener just makes it a smoother taste for me. There are hemp seeds in the shake so I usually give this a shake or swirl before I take a drink of it.
I often find that with “liquid meals” (like my kale+fruit smoothies), they don’t offer much in the way of lasting energy, and I feel hungry really fast. Surprisingly, the Chocolate Bliss seems to give me a decent amount of endurance. In part, I think the hemp seeds add a little something extra as far as taste and energy. I work in a greenhouse and I am on my feet all day between work and the kids, so I need the sustenance.
You can also mix this in the blender, so the ingredients all blend together up for a creamy, smooth taste. The flavors mix really well and I like to make a large batch so it is ready to go. By mixing it in the blender, the hemp seeds and sweetener blend very well. I like to portion it out in mason jars so it is all set to go when I am rushing out the door in the morning. I used this recipe from LovingSuperfoods.com:
~ 3 Cups pure water (for blending)
~ 1 Cup Chocolate Bliss Powder
~ 1 Cup Raw, Local Honey (or favorite natural sweetener) {I used my agave!}Blend until smooth (works best in a Vitamix or other high powered blender), pour into a gallon-sized sealable container, and then fill the rest up with pure water. Shake well, and then chill. Blended Chocolate Bliss will last 1 week in the fridge. Most people will consume 1 gallon within a week if drinking about 16 ounces a day.
Although I generally eat this alongside a fresh apple or other fruit, it seems to keep me going, and the great part is I feel good. I like to eat as clean as possible in the morning, and I feel like this is full of great nutrition.
The Chocolate Bliss ingredients include:
Mayan Gold Cacao Powder, Hemp Seeds, Rhodiola Rosea, Maca, SunFire Salt, MSM, Pure Vanilla Powder, Carob, Tocotrienols, Acerola Berries, Camu Camu Berries, and Manioc Root.
Vanilla Agave Nectar
The Vanilla Agave Nectar is absolutely delicious! Of all the health products I have used, I hadn’t tried agave before, but the great part is that it is low glycemic. I try to avoid sweeteners as much as possible, for example I don’t sweeten my teas and I drink mostly water. So it seems counter-intuitive to add sugar to my morning smoothie, making the agave a great alternative.
The SunFire Super Foods supply of Vanilla Agave Nectar is the only agave nectar we trust. It is always pristine quality (no additives) and a pure source (no after tastes). The pure vanilla infusion adds to the smooth rich flavor and also seems to further reduce the glycemic effect of the already low-glycemic agave. The inulin fiber in agave helps to slow the assimilation of the carbohydrates until it reaches the lower digestive tract.
Although I don’t need to use much sweetener in my morning smoothies, some of my concoctions can be a bit bitter between greens and tart fruits (like strawberries).
The agave is so easy to use and has a wonderful vanilla flavor too. Although I have used this in smoothies, I think it would be great on top of crepes or ice cream or just about anything you could want to put a vanilla syrup on!
You can read about all the ingredients on the Loving Superfoods website, if you want to learn a little more about each one.
