I received a copy of this CD for my honest review.
I still vividly remember listening to Raffi on cassette as a kid, going on road trips with my family. When I had my own kids, I couldn’t wait to introduce them to the same music.
Can you believe that Raffi has released nearly 30 children’s albums? The first album was “Singable Songs for the Very Young“, released in 1976. I am definitely one of Raffi’s “Beluga Grads”, who grew up listening to his music!
I have always loved Raffi’s songs, as a child and now as a parent. We have a collection of CDs that we have listened to over the years, keeping on the tradition of listening to Raffi on road trips. I hope when my kids have kids, they will do this too!
His music is warm and comforting, full of great messages and a positive spirit. His music really is timeless, with a wholesome feel to it that makes it so perfect for families to listen to. As a parent, I have had to “deal” with children’s music that was grating, full of annoying sound effects, shouting, and so on – but Raffi’s music is always welcome in our house and car! His music is always sure to put you in a good mood – just try not to sing along!
The Best of Raffi CD has a great selection of songs, from those 1976 classic Raffi songs to newer songs like “Owl Singalong”. I personally know every song on the album. Just like Raffi’s other albums, I can’t help but to sing along. I think my favorite is “Down By the Bay”!
- Baby Beluga
- Down By the Bay
- Apples and Bananas
- Shake My Sillies Out
- Wheels On the Bus
- Day O
- Bananaphone
- Let’s Play
- Everything Grows
- Mr. Sun

- Owl Singalong
- One Light One Sun
- Rise and Shine
- If You’re Happy and You Know It
- Thanks a Lot
Raffi has so many fantastic songs, and this is a great compilation. What a great way to sample Raffi’s songs without sorting through dozens of albums from over the years!

A Raffi song called Banana Phone gets stuck in my head quite often!
Wheels on the Bus is so much fun to sing and sticks in your head! My girls grew up with Raffi and love to share with the grandkids too!
My favorite Raffi song is Apples and Bananas 🙂 The kids think it’s such a fun and silly song.
