Every summer we come up with a summer bucket list. It makes summer exciting and gives the kids some ideas for times they are bored. We take a piece of poster paper, write out a list and decorate it. As we finish each item, we cross it off, with a goal to finish by summer’s end!
Here are some ideas for your summer bucket list!
- Visit a beach
- Have a fancy dinner at home
- Go kayaking or canoeing
- Movie night at home
- Summer reading program (library, Barnes & Noble)
- Go out to pick up ice cream
- Pick berries
- Pancake dinner
- Bake cookies
- See fireworks
- Adopt a pet from the shelter
- Paint kindness rocks
- Have a water balloon fight
- Do some cooking projects
- Celebrate Christmas in July
- Have fun with bubbles
- Go fishing
- Make s’mores
- Set up a slip and slide
- Make homemade lemonade
- Plant a garden
- Go swimming/go to the pool
- Have a water balloon fight
- Go to a drive-in movie
- Visit the library
- Visit a farm
- Have a picnic
- Go camping
- Random acts of kindness
- Get a book from the bookstore
- Have a tea party at home
- Visit a new park
- Visit a nature center (outdoors)
- Play with sidewalk chalk
- Family game night

I know my grand kids have done quiet a few of your suggestions this summer already! I especially like the one to do random acts of kindness! It could teach them about helping and giving to less fortunate people!!
