I love getting my kids excited about holidays.  Cinco de Mayo is one of those that we tend to overlook, but there are lots of great resources out there.

There are many neat books to choose from, including cuter stories to more informative books.

These books are a great way to get kids learning about history and culture, and understanding a holiday that many people don’t the background of.

Once you read some books together, it is fun to do a little Cinco de Mayo celebration after!  We like to cook together when we can.  (You can check out our recipe for Vegetarian Tacos here).

You can also find some good music to share with kids, too, like this book, which comes with a CD.

We are also a big fan of Putomayo music.
