Do you feel as though you don’t have time for anything anymore? Maybe you feel as though you need to do more to reduce your overall stress level, but you just don’t know how to go about doing it. Either way, here are some tips that will help you to have more time in the day without compromising your schedule.
Get Organised
Being organised can help you to eliminate a huge amount of stress from your life. Try and make sure that you are keeping a calendar of all the things that you have to do in the day and also make plans the night before if you can. When you do things like this, you will soon find that you can keep track of everything that you need without having to worry about a thing. If you find the idea of keeping a physical schedule impossible, then it may be worth investing in a calendar app. When you do, you can then jot things down on the go and this can really work in your favour.
Delegate
It can be tempting to try and cover all of the household jobs yourself, but if you put a bit of time and effort in then you can get both your partner and your kids on the same page. Your children can help you to take laundry upstairs and your partner may be able to handle the school run a few times a week too. Either way, the trick is to try and break down chores into simple tasks. If you are having a hard time picking up the kids, then it may be worth hiring a nanny.
Multitask
Multitasking was once the way for you to manage your time most efficiently. You may even find that you are able to get twice as much done during the day as well. The problem is that when you multitask, you may find that you end up not getting jobs done properly or even that you end up forgetting about the other things on your schedule. If you want to get around this then pair mindless tasks with ones that might be focus-dependent. For example, you can easily take a walk while you are trying to make business calls. If you feel more rushed than benefitted then this indicates that your multi-tasking is not working and that you need to stop for a moment and split up your tasks.
Say No
Learning to say no is a great time-management tip that will serve you well. It’s not easy to say no to say the least, but if you do then you will soon find that you are able to manage your schedule much more efficiently. Look at your priorities and say no to anything that isn’t absolutely necessary. When you do this, you will soon find that your stress levels plummet and that you are also able to stay on top of things more.
