We love traveling and checking out new places, and we were very excited to hear about the opening of the Kartrite Resort and waterpark this spring 2019. We decided to check out the resort on a day that the kids had off from school, as a birthday surprise for my daughter.
The Kartrite Resort is located in the Catskills, in Monticello. It was an easy drive from Albany, NY at just over 2 hours, and easy to find.
There is plenty of parking, and we had no problem checking in.
We were all given wristbands that act as key cards and your entry to the waterpark.
Our room was on the 6th floor, with a great view of the waterpark. We soon discovered the outdoor pool is huge hot tub!
The room was very nice, from the design to the layout.
Our room had a mini refrigerator, microwave and a Keurig coffee maker, which are great amenities to have when you travel.
The hotel has a lot of eco-friendly initiatives, so no disposable toiletries, a recyclables bin in the room, and much more. When we travel, I usually end up bringing things like plastic bottles home to recycle because I hate to throw them away, and this is the first hotel I have been that has recycling.
After checking in, we got ready to head to the waterpark. The front desk gave us a brochure that outlined the hours of everything, including the waterpark and restaurants.
We were excited to see that there is a Flow Rider in the waterpark. The lifeguards were very helpful in offering tips and suggestions.
The kids enjoyed the Empire Bay lazy river. The water temperature at the park is 84 degrees, which is nice and warm and no worries about the kids getting cold.
There are lots of different rides and activities to choose from, and for all ages, from toddlers to older kids.
There were several rides, and the favorite seemed to be one that has what looks like a drain in the middle.
The resort provides clean towels, and there are plenty of places to drop them off around the resort as well. There are nice changing rooms and showers, and lockers available for rent as well. Food is available for purchase in the food court in the waterpark, and I thought the prices were more reasonable compared to other waterparks we have been to.
There is plenty to do around the resort, both inside and out.
There are numerous places to eat in the resort, and there is also shopping and restaurants nearby.
Outside, there is a playground, games, fire pits, seating areas, and more. Plus, there are trails to go on.
There are arcade areas, including foosball, pool tables, and air hockey.
There is also an adventure course.
It looked like there are movies in the lobby most nights.
There are also games set up and comfortable seating.
We had a very enjoyable time at the Kartrite resort, and we look forward to returning!
