I have really been enjoying making kale smoothies, especially as I use up the last of the kale from my garden. This is my favorite morning smoothie, chock full of delicious, nutritious ingredients, and quick and easy to make.
~ large handful of kale (remove stems)
~ 1 banana
~ 1.5 cups coconut milk
~ 1/2 to 1 tsp matcha powder
~ optional: approx. 1 tablespoon chia seeds, flax seeds, or any other ingredient to “boost” your smoothie!
~ optional: sweetener such as honey
Wash the kale carefully, and break into pieces. I remove the stems.
Break or slice banana into chunks.
Place all the ingredients in the blender. Mix until smooth.
I use whole seed chia, but you can use ground chia, flax, or any other ingredients.
I am a big fan of using a banana in this smoothie, since it adds sweetness and has potassium which is great before hitting the gym, but you can substitute any fruit you like. another favorite of mine is frozen strawberries. Depending on the fruit you use, you may want to add a dash of honey or other sweetener.
That looks like it is as tasty as it is healthy. I have not seen kale lately but when i do this would be a great breakfast for the kids.
I want to get back into making green smoothies! Such a great way to start the day.
It is amazing all the different things you can put into smoothies! I have to admit I could do with something which gives a bit of an energy boost right now I’ll have to give this a try.

This recipe couldn’t come at a better time! I’ve been making a ton of greens + banana smoothies lately but haven’t tried one with kale, matcha or coconut milk yet. I actually have all of these in my fridge so going to give this a try.
I have never joined the smoothie craze, but you make it look so easy and delicious. I am going to give it a go and see what I think!

We have been eating so poorly that I need to make this green energy smoothie for breakfast! When my kids were little I was able to sneak spinach in their smoothies all the time!
