We love traveling and getting to experience different cultures, including foods. While we have done a fair amount of traveling, we have never been to Japan! We were excited to try the Sakuraco snack box and see what kind of new and interesting treats there were. We haven’t tried a Subscription Box in many years, and it is so fun to have something arrive on your doorstep as a treat.
Sakuraco is a monthly authentic Japanese snack subscription box that supports local Japanese snack makers, each box comes with 20 traditional, authentic, and artisan Japanese snacks including Japanese teas and special Japanese tableware. (https://sakura.co/)

We were so excited when the box arrived on our doorstep. It is so fun to get something in the mail – it is such a treat to get this box and it is the kind of thing where you can’t wait to dig in! And while we have a variety of food stores around us, I can’t say I have tried any of the items in this Japan Snack Box.
We love the postcard in the box. The artwork is so nice, and we have this on our bulletin board.

Not only is the snack box a Japan theme, but it also goes by region. So our June box was Hokkaido – “Hokkaido is widely regarded as the center of Japan’s dairy production, known for its high-quality milk and wide range of dairy products.” I was not familiar with the different areas of Japan, so I was already learning about the areas of the country.
There is a lot of info provided for the box, so you can thoroughly learn about everything you have received.

There is a very useful glossy booklet that comes inside of the box. This is very helpful in describing the products, many of which are difficult to tell what they are!

Not only does the booklet tell you what the product is, it gives you information about the product like the background behind it and how it is manufactured.
There are so many different items in the box. I loved the variety of the box, and we sampled our way through the box slowly. Sometimes we would try something when we wanted a sweet treat, and then there were savory items, etc.

There are so many neat goodies in the box, and the variety is wonderful.

I saved the tea for a rainy day, and thoroughly enjoyed the unique taste. I loved the smoky taste of the roasted Adzuki red beans, and it has an interesting taste that is different from the teas I usually drink.

The Hokkaido butter cookie was fantastic! So light, but rich and buttery – absolutely delicious. Such a delicate cookie in taste and design.

The sand cookies with strawberry infused flavors and condensed milk ingredients were also a wonderful treat.

The wasabi pumpkin seeds were delicious, and not too spicy. I could really eat a big bag of these!

These light cookies were delicious too – and so cute!

I really liked the little bowl that was included, which represents the Gifu ceramics region of Japan, and draws on the shape of a chrysanthemum. When we finished all of our snacks, it was nice to have a little keepsake from the box that lasted beyond the treats. We put our Hokkaido Milk Candies in the bowl since we had it out on our counter. These Japanese Candy treats were so delicious!

These are just a few of the treats that we sampled. We truly savored the whole experience of checking out the different items.
We had a blast working our way through the Sakuraco box, reading up on the snacks and learning about Japan. And I enjoy seeing the little dish on my counter that holds some candies. I am looking forward to trying another box and learning about another region of this beautiful country.

Snack boxes are always so fun. I do love trying new snacks and treats.
I’m always excited whenever I discover new Japanese treats, so this subscription box is definitely right up my alley. I also love that they include full-size snacks instead of just tiny samples. That Hokkaido butter cookie looks especially delicious. I’d love to try it!
I just checked their website, and the 12-month subscription really does offer great value, especially with the freebie included! Thanks again for sharing this. I definitely appreciate the recommendation!
Want me some butter cookie haha And including ceramics makes Sakuraco feel more thoughtful than snacks alone. Love it.
This is such a cool snack box! The cookies and the tea all look delicious. I would love to try some Japanese treats!

My children are obsessed with all things Japanese. I love this concept of being able to try so many things. This box looks great.
What an interesting selection of treats, so much to try. The butter cookie sounds like it would be super tasty, Japanese snacks always seem to mix things which seem a bit odd but then they work x
