On a recent trip to Wilmington, North Carolina, we decided to stop by the New Hanover County Arboretum.
This is a free garden open every day from 8-5, and is easy to find in the Wilmington area.

We took Google Maps to find the garden, and it is easy to get to.
There is plenty of parking, and we even found a spot in the shade. I loved seeing all the Spanish Moss as we entered the gardens.

There is a nice fountain as you come in to the gardens, as well as other fountains, sculptures, and more throughout the grounds.

There are many different areas in the garden to explore, from the koi pond to the butterfly garden.

There are many neatly maintained paths around the gardens. It was really nice how well-kept everything is here.

There are many flowers, plants and trees to check out.

I enjoyed seeing a variety of palms here, since I only recently moved here from the North.

I was familiar with some plants, and it was neat to see a variety of species I was not familiar with at all.

The pond is really pretty, with a metal dragon sculpture in the middle. There are a variety of

The bridge is a great spot for taking photos.

We saw koi fish, turtles, and frogs while we were there.

There are restrooms here, as well as a gift shop.
We enjoyed our time at the Arboretum, which was peaceful and interesting. It was neat to explore the different areas of the gardens and learn about different plants.
