I have driven by Bass Lake Park several times, and I heard it was a nice place for a walk, so I stopped by to check it out. The park has a big sign out front, and you can’t miss it.

The park is not far from Downtown Holly Springs, and is a nice spot for a walk, bike ride, fishing, going out on the water, etc.

There is a large parking lot with plenty of parking, although I did hear that the parking fills up when it is busy.

The trail around the lake is about 2 miles, which is perfect for a loop or two. There are mile markers along the way to keep track of distance.

The trail is wide and flat. Although it is not paved, it was in great condition when I went over the summer. There was plenty of shade on the trail, so while it was hot, I was only battling the humidity!

The view of the lake is very pretty! I saw a lot of wildlife while I was there, including ducks, herons, turtles, and more.

There are benches around the lake, for taking a break or admiring the view.

There are many signs along the path about different plants and animals. I enjoyed reading about different things along the way, especially since I am new to the area.

I liked how many educational signs there were at the park, along with dog waste bags and trash cans.

Too often I go to parks that don’t have trash cans, but this park is very neat and clean.

The trails are very peaceful even with a lot of people there. There were a decent amount of people out, including kids, runners, bikers, etc. The trail is easy to follow as it is a simple loop around the lake, and takes you back to the parking lot.

I even saw some deer out on the trail!

Towards the end of the loop, there is a lot of bamboo growing, which I thought looked neat.

Back at the main lot, there is a boat house with a large deck, boat rentals, restrooms, and welcome center.

There are great views of the lake and chairs and tables to sit at. There were some families enjoying lunch at picnic tables.

You can rent a variety of watercraft, so I will definitely be back to try that out!

Inside the welcome center, there were some animal exhibits. There was also information, fishing supplies, and cold treats and drinks for sale.

I had a very nice time at this park, from the nicely maintained trails to the views of the lake and the amenities offered (such as restrooms).
