We recently visited the Cooperstown area, and were looking for a place to explore and stretch our legs. The Clark Tower trail looked interesting and a good length for a hike.

Getting there was easy using Google Maps. The trail is only about 5 minutes from the Cooperstown Hall of Fame, so it was a nice spot to go an stretch our legs.

There were several parking spots along the road.

There is a gate at the beginning of the trail.

We looked up the trails online. There are different options and loops. We did the longest option which we found on AllTrails, which has a distance of 3.6 miles. There are some inclines on the trail as it heads up to Clark tTower, but I would said it is not particularly difficult or intense.

There are a variety of areas within the trail system, from wide wooded trails to a path through a field.

At the top of the trail there is the Clark Tower. The tower was built by Frederick Clark in the late 1800’s as a hunting camp. Next to the tower is a gravesite for his dog Buttons.

There were pretty areas with ferns and tall pines.

I enjoyed the paths covered with pine needles. The trails were not busy, and it was a nice escape from the

Towards the end of the trail were scenic views of a lake.

We enjoyed checking out this spot just outside of the town of Cooperstown.
