Nestled in the southern Adirondacks, Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center is a winter destination for cross-country skiing enthusiasts. My son had been there for a Nordic ski practice, so we decided to spend a day there on winter break.
Getting there looked like this for most of the drive!

Getting there was a bit of an adventure. Google maps routed us through some rural areas where the roads had not been cleared, so we had to backtrack.

My cell signal was also out for a good portion of this drive, so be sure to load and check your route before you leave.
Finally, we made it.

There are signs welcoming you to the Lodge as you arrive.

We parked right near the lodge and the trailheads.

The lodge is cozy but offers a lot.

The lodge is rustic and very comfortable inside. There is a wood-burning stove, places to sit, rentals, gear for sale and for rent, bathrooms, and food for purchase.
There is a good selection of food in the upstairs of the lodge. Including of course, hot cocoa!

There is a store with plenty of items for sale, from skis to hand warmers.

If you prefer to rent for the day, there are plenty of rental options.

The lodge is cozy, with a variety of seating and a stove to warm yourself up.

I am a cat lover, so I was excited to meet the resident cat, Little Bit!

He even has his own merchandise!

And his own ski pass, of course!

There are miles of groomed trails, which made for a great day of nordic ski (both classic or skate skiing), as well as snowshoeing. There are over 30 miles of beautifully maintained trails that wind through towering pines and snow-covered landscapes. You can grab a trail map when you go to the lodge to check them out.

I was tempted to go snowshoeing with the teens, but I had a bit of work to do. I have to say, I thought the Wifi would be just ok, considering the poor cell signal in the area. In fact, our phones had no signal at all. However, the lodge had amazing Wifi! I rely on an internet connection for work, and I am very appreciative that there was great Wifi for working, but also staying in communication. Plus, we were able to get our Google Maps loaded before heading home.

That sounds like a peaceful getaway. Fresh snow, scenic trails, and a cozy atmosphere always make winter adventures more enjoyable.
That was an exciting and fun experience for sure. I want to experience playing snow with my family.
I have not skiied before but this looks like a really great place. The cabin looks cosy and I love the cat with it’s own merch.
Ahh! I would take the family here just for Little Bit! We can ski anywhere, but where can we ski that has a resident cuddle bug?!
I have never tried skiing or snowshoeing (not even sure what that is!) but this place looks like a wonderful place to try it.
Oh gosh that’s a lot of snow! I would love to see this much snow in our town, but I live in England.
It looks like you had a fun time here, the kids too. The snow looks so pretty and perfect for these outdoor activities!
The Lapland Lake Nordic center sounds like a great place for a fun day out that is a bit different. I love the idea of snowshoeing. That sounds like fun as I love to walk and enjoy the scenic surroundings.
Awe, that horse and buggy is just adorable. What a fun place to get away to. I hope we can head there soon for a weekend trip.
The ski centre has everything you could need to enjoy your skiing vacation by the looks of it. Snowshoeing would be fun to try.
Sounds like a fun getaway. Although I don’t think I could be convinced to go out to ski, I’d rather hang with the cat in front of the fire in the lodge haha x
Great review of Lapland Lake Nordic Ski Center! It sounds like the perfect winter getaway, especially with all the cozy vibes at the lodge and those beautiful trails.
The Lapland Lake Nordic Ski Center looks incredible and I would love to take my family here for a bit of fun in the snow! I loved the pictures and the cat looks so much like my cat Shadow 😉 Love it and will check this spot out. On a side note…. I have had my cell phone coverage go out on me when I needed it the most so your tip of mapping out your route beforehand is spot on 😉
What a beautiful area. I’d love to go one day. I’ve never been skiing before and really need to try it out.
It’s been a while since we last went skiing! Happy to know that the ski center has a lot of rental options as we no longer have our own ski gear.
Would love to meet Little Bit. His own merchandise is so cute. We’d love to get the tote bag as a souvenir.
This place is magical! Your pictures are so detailed that I got the feel and its incredible beauty. Thank you.
We’re so glad you enjoyed your day with us! We love your photos and write-up! Little Bit says “Hi!” 😊
