We have been a fan of Adagio Teas for years. What I love is that their teas are so good, and there are so many different ones to choose from. I have been hearing a lot about butterfly pea flower tea lately, and I was excited to see some different blends offered by Adagio, including their Bella Luna Blue, offered on the days of a blue moon! I was so excited to try this special limited edition tea!
Bella Luna Blue is a blended blue tea, and contains Butterfly Pea Flower, Lemon Grass & Natural Blueberry Flavor.
I love that this tea does not include caffeine. I am sensitive to caffeine, so I can enjoy this any time of day, especially in the evening when I want to relax with some tea. Plus, my kids like this tea as well, and I don’t have to worry about caffeine.
What an absolutely beautiful tea, and it tastes wonderful! I have heard that butterfly pea flower alone is not particularly interesting, and Adagio did a great job creating the perfect blend. This has a sort of fruity and floral quality to it.
And an interesting note – you can add lemon juice to your tea, which turns the color into more of a purple shade. How neat!
Adagio Teas offers other teas that contain butterfly pea flower, like this purple papayaberry iced tea. I love how easy this is to make, with large tea bags that can be placed in a quart of water overnight to steep.

Ohh now this sounds like a really interesting tea, definitely something I wouldn’t mind trying out myself!
Delicious alone but a very weak tea so I advise steeping longer. The lemon /acid makes the tea change color which is AMAZING but it also kills the tea flavor a bit and the lemon becomes predominant. (Still good though!) I’m not sure if there’s a way to up the flavor without removing the blue color.
I haven’t tried drinking a butterfly pea tea. Good thing you shared a review for the best one.
