The current world events have unfortunately left a lot of people without a job, and many of them are actively looking for one. But the thing is, a lot of companies and complete industries don’t really have any job openings, which makes finding a job especially difficult.

That being said, an online job can be a great way to get a bit of income flowing, whether that’s to supplement your current income or to have enough to put bread on the table. An online job also gives you certain freedom you can’t get elsewhere, because you get to choose your working hours, your clients, and every aspect of running your business, practically.

And we know what you may be thinking, but no, you’re not unqualified for an online job – there are a lot of options, from streaming on some of the best cam sites, working as a freelance designer, to working as a developer. So let’s take a look at a few options that are available to literally everyone who is willing to put in the effort and start a new career.

Work as a Freelance Writer

If you have a knack for words, working as a freelance writer is one of the best ways you can make a living. You get to choose the type of content you write, and there are really a lot of options. You can ghostwrite books, you can write blog posts, you can do listicle articles and reviews, and a host of other types of content, depending on what you’re good at.

Working as a writer is also fairly well paid, especially if you get paid at an hourly rate and land the right client. Of course, they will probably need revisions and edits until you get to the point where they get perfect content, but if you’re getting paid for all of that, it’s more than worth it.

Work as a Transcriptionist

Working as a transcriptionist is one of the easier jobs you can do because all it requires is that you have good ears and know the language you’re transcribing in. Your job will basically be to listen to live and recorded audio and video material and turn that into written words. It’s a great job if you have time for it.

Getting paid is usually done by the minute, so the more material you transcribe, the more you get paid. And of course, live transcription is paid much higher, but you’ll need to work extremely fast and be very accurate if you want to succeed, which is more difficult than it sounds. And of course, while most jobs are for English speakers, less popular languages might pay a bit better.

Work as a Social Media Manager

Social media marketing for brands isn’t a choice, it’s a necessity dictated by today’s online-oriented market. If you know how social media marketing and advertising works, you can make a killing by handling social media for big brands and influencers. It might seem like a difficult task at first, but once you get into how things work and how you can analyze your target audience for high engagement, you’ll see that it’s a pretty interesting job.

Not only do you get to promote the brands and individuals you work with, but you also get to be a part of their product development, which is especially great if you personally like the brands you’re working with.

Work as a Data Entry Specialist

Data entry encompasses a few different things, but the main takeaway is that you’ll be doing research and gathering information for your client. Then, it’s going to be your goal to organize that information and present it in a way that your client can use, whether that’s in a spreadsheet, or their own software, or whatever solution they want you to use.

It’s not a difficult job, but it might be a boring one after a while. If that’s not something you mind, working as a data entry specialist is definitely a job anyone can do, and you should give it a shot.

Work as a Developer

Even though some might say that working as a developer is difficult, the truth is, everyone can do it. Even if you don’t have a college degree, all it takes is a bit of common sense and logical thinking, and a will to learn development. You’ll find there is no shortage of courses that will teach you development from scratch, and you will be able to land clients if you’re a good learner.

The main thing that makes working as a developer an attractive proposition is the earnings – developers are among the highest-paid people in the world. But you’ll need to work pretty hard if you want to get to that level, and it’s definitely worth it. You also have a lot of freedom in terms of what type of development you do, so don’t waste any time and start learning, it’s honestly a great job.
