Children’s musician Lindsay Munroe has a wonderful new album out this April 24, 2020.  Munroe has been writing and performing music for years, and “I Am Kind: Songs for Unique Kids” is her debut album, filled with positive messages.  This album can be enjoyed by kids of all ages, and features well-known children’s singer Raffi.

This music is so welcoming, calming, and catchy.  I have been listening to Raffi’s music since I was a child, and I can see why this is a perfect pairing, as the two artists vocals and styles blend together so well.  I also loved hearing this album’s of Raffi’s song, “The More We Get Together”.

“I am Kind” is comforting and enjoyable, with 16 songs that were written to uplift.  As a mother of three children with autism, Munroe works to spread messages of diversity and inclusion, and was inspired by Raffi’s Child Honouring course, which teaches principles of “Respectful Love, Diversity, Caring Community, Emotional Intelligence, and Nonviolence”.  She states, “I hope that all families, especially those with neurodiverse kids, can feel uplifted and inspired by my songs.”

I loved this album right away, as it opens with strumming on the ukulele and Munroe’s lovely voice.  Each song is so warm and nurturing through both the lyrics and music.

This album is a wonderful compilation of songs that the whole family can listen to together.  These are such timeless pieces that I am sure will be enjoyed for years.
