Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum
This San Jose museum features the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts on display in the western part of the United States. View the replica of King Tut’s tomb, and learn how the Egyptians created mummies. To make the experience more immersive, the museum offers an Expedition Passport that you can have stamped as you pass through each section. Your kids will love making sure that they got to see everything.
Children’s Discovery Museum
Teaching and engaging children for years, the Children’s Discovery Museum is an experience that your kids will love. The museum facilitates hands-on learning that includes transforming soapy water into huge bubbles, pretending to shop and work at a kid-size grocery store, and sending balls through various waterways. After a day at the museum, everyone will surely be hungry. Head to popular local restaurants like the Rok Steakhouse & Grill where you can get steak, pork chops, or a salad or try Birk’s Restaurant. There, they serve seafood and tasty sandwiches.
Winchester Mystery House
The Winchester Mystery House is a popular tourist attraction. This 160-room mansion is filled with maze-like halls, secret passageways and twisting stairways. Originally, the home belonged to Sara Winchester, the heir of the Winchester Rifle fortune. She believed that the victims of her husband’s rifles wanted revenge. To thwart the spirits, she constructed a home meant to obstruct them. Within the 160 rooms, you’ll come across things like upside-down columns, fake doors and false windows. The rumors claim that the home is indeed haunted. Come see for yourself.

The children’s discovery museum sounds wonderful! We enjoy visiting different museums when we travel so we’ll have to give this one a try if we are ever in the area!
That Egyptian museum sounds so interesting! Looks like a fun place to explore.
I would love visit San Jose one day. I’ve been to other places in California but not in San Jose. Adding this to our bucket list.
San Jose will be one of the cities we plan to visit during our trip to California, we are a little worried because this is our first trip with a child, but we plan everything very carefully and hope not to miss anything. It’s good that there are blogs that help with this.
