How to Whiten Your Teeth Naturally

There are few people that have a perfect set of teeth out there. Most people have some kind of dental imperfections and they learn to live with them or eventually try to get rid of them. A lot of people have a particularly noticeable problem, which is having yellow or stained teeth.  There are multiple ways in which you can get stained teeth or yellow teeth, the most common being a lack of brushing. Even with a very active toothbrush however, there are still things like eating sweets or drinking coffee.

That being said, it’s time to start whitening your teeth using a very simple treatment. You don’t have to go to a dental clinic and you surely don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on treatments. Have you ever heard about coconut oil and the various coconut oil benefits? Coconut oil is truly phenomenal when it comes to your health and one of its many capabilities is to whiten teeth. This is done through a process referred to as oil pulling. Even though that sounds a bit weird, it’s rather simple.

It’s called oil pulling because you basically pull the oil all through your mouth and through all the nooks and crannies. By now you are probably eager to know more about how exactly this works, so we’re going to get right into it.

What you need for this treatment

All you need for this treatment is a spoon and some coconut oil. There are many vendors that will sell you coconut oil. You can probably even find it at your local supermarket. A jar of coconut oil is usually very affordable and it shouldn’t scare you or your wallet. You don’t need a lot of it either so you can just buy a small jar.

Oil pulling

To start, simple take two spoons full of coconut oil and keep them in your mouth. Fight all instincts and urges to swallow it as this will defeat the purpose and the taste isn’t fantastic either.

Once the coconut oil is in your mouth, start swishing it around. Make sure that you are thorough and that you take the oil through all the crevices and hard to reach places in your mouth, in front of and behind your teeth, both superior and inferior.

Keep doing this for no less than 20 minutes, as you need to be really thorough for it to work. After you’ve spent 20 minutes swishing the oil through your mouth, you can spit it out. Before you are done, make sure to also brush your teeth as you would normally do.

This isn’t a cartoon so your teeth won’t be shining white instantly, but soon after you start the treatment, you should start noticing differences. Make sure to do this one time per day. You can make it part of your morning ritual until you are happy with the results you have obtained.
