Spirulina is an incredibly healthy, nutrient dense food. I have tried to incorporate it into my diet, but my days have been busier than ever, and coming up with creative uses for spirulina can be tough. Spiral Spring has a variety of high quality spirulina products that are easy to add into your daily routine.
So what is Spiral Springs “Spirulina maxima”?
One of the healthiest foods ever known to man. The quantity and quality of proteins, vitamins, and minerals it contains in its natural form is almost the same as that recommended by FAO (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization).
This form of algae is a great way to add extra nutrients to your diet and eat healthier. To start, I chose the spirulina tablets because there are just so many days I am out the door in the morning without breakfast. Ideally I would like to begin my day on a good foot, but between driving the kids to school and rushing off to work, I don’t have that kind of time or patience. I try to take these at home, on my way to work, or even at work. The tablets are an awesome way to stay on track even when I’m on the go.
The spirulina marzipan is ridiculously good. I didn’t think anything of it as I unwrapped the marzipan, but it was incredible! Fresh and sweet and flavorful.. it was a really indulgent snack, but one that left me feeling good and not terrible like a lot of sweets do.
The marzipan was a little crumbly as it got beat up a little in shipment, but I loved the light, flaky quality of it, with sesame seeds mixed in. I could certainly eat a lot of these, all while reaping the benefits of spirulina.
For years people have scrunched up their noses when they see I am adding a greens powders to my smoothies or making a shake. And honestly, they can have a really strong flavor. I was interested to try Spiral Spring‘s “Choco Spring“, which is literally a few simple ingredients with spirulina. I mix it in water or diluted coconut milk, and it is delicious! I have to say the taste is pretty mild – so mild that I thought I had read the instructions wrong and used far too little – but that was not the case. This is a great way to start off the morning, with a healthy and nutritious shake that doesn’t have a strong or overpowering flavor. I highly recommend this, especially if you have not been a fan of the taste of spirulina!
Spiral Spring also has pure spirulina powder, which you could add to smoothies or shakes as well.
Spiral Spring products have quickly made their way into my daily routine. I thought I might find myself taking the tablets the most, since I don’t have extra time in my day, but I actually found myself craving a fresh Choco Spring shake in the mornings. I love having both options, and with a schedule that is more hectic than ever, I think Spiral Spring products help keep me on track with my health goals.
