Matcha Latte

Matcha Latte

Matcha powder is versatile and is packed with benefits.  This finely powdered green tea can be used in drinks, baking and more.  Matcha has a high concentration of antioxidants, and provides an energy boost.  I am always looking for ways to incorporate something healthy into my foods, and I usually end up sprinkling my matcha powder into smoothies.

This is an easy beverage to create with matcha powder.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 3/4 cup almond milk, or regular milk
  • honey or other sweetener to taste

Directions

Whisk 1 teaspoon matcha powder with 1/4 cup of boiling water.

Matcha Latte

You want to make sure the matcha is completely dissolved without any lumps.

Mix in your milk.  I heat the milk in the microwave ahead of time, but it depends on how hot you want your latte.

Sweeten to taste.

I use a little handheld frother to mix the latte and create a little foam on top!

    I have tried green tea and didn’t care for it much at all. Perhaps this way it would taste more appealing to me.

    I cannot find Matcha powder while I’m on vacay in Greece, but I will try your recipe when I get home!
