Matcha powder is versatile and is packed with benefits. This finely powdered green tea can be used in drinks, baking and more. Matcha has a high concentration of antioxidants, and provides an energy boost. I am always looking for ways to incorporate something healthy into my foods, and I usually end up sprinkling my matcha powder into smoothies.
However, one of the easiest ways to prepare matcha is as a beverage. I saw this recipe in Bon Appetit and knew I had to try it!
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- 3/4 cup almond milk, or regular milk
- honey or other sweetener to taste
Whisk 1 teaspoon matcha powder with 1/4 cup of boiling water.
You want to make sure the matcha is completely dissolved without any lumps.
Mix in your milk. I heat the milk in the microwave ahead of time, but it depends on how hot you want your latte.
Sweeten to taste.
I use a little handheld frother to mix the latte and create a little foam on top!
