I remember Genevieve Goings from watching a lot of “Choo Choo Soul” on Disney with my kids. She has a wonderful voice and personality, and has had multiple GRAMMY nominations, so it is no surprise that she is releasing her first children’s EP this February 5th, “Great Indoors”. Much of this EP was inspired by the pandemic, and spending time sheltering indoors.

Goings has a long career in music, with over 14 years of touring, over 10 years doing Choo Choo Soul, and much more. It is clear from her music and performances that she is very experienced. She sings and narrates for many Disney shows, so it is likely you have heard her voice somewhere. Lately, she has been busy with many projects, including writing these new songs and live streaming music for kids. She also had a baby in 2019, and is truly a busy, working mom!

The “Great Indoors” EP has a great urban/pop vibe that we are familiar with from Goings time on Choo Choo Soul. The music is upbeat and catchy, and the songs have a great energy that make you want to move with the song. I love this pop genre that is just so engaging for kids.

“Grateful” was the first track released from the “Great Indoors” EP, and is an appreciation of the things we have while sheltering in place. We can all relate to pandemic life, and it is nice to have a positive message come out of it.

The Great Indoors is full of fun and positive messages. Almost a year into the pandemic, this is relatable material we can all appreciate, from trying to make the best of your indoor space to winding down for bedtime.

“Shadow Puppets” inspires kids to get creative and make some shadow puppets.
