There is something about summer and smoothies.  We have been enjoying lots of fresh smoothies, and it is nice to get some extra healthy benefits in there too.

This is an easy smoothie.  I have been freezing bananas so that I always have some on hand, but you can use fresh or frozen.

Ingredients:

~ approx. 1 cup milk (any kind – regular, vegan, etc)
~ 1 banana (frozen or fresh)
~ 1 tsp. matcha powder
~ sweetener to taste
~ ice (as desired)

Matcha Green Tea

Directions:

Simply gather your ingredients and place them in the blender.

I start with the milk.  For this I choose organic grassmilk from Organic Valley.  I always get organic milk and we love Organic Valley, plus there are so many benefits to grass-fed, grain free milk.

Add your matcha powder.

Despite being green, the powder doesn’t add a brilliant green color to the smoothie.

You can also add sweetener and ice.

Blend until smooth, and enjoy!
