We have attended different classes at Michaels craft stores over the years. Their MAKE Break classes are fun for kids, with a variety of different project ideas to choose from.

The most recent Make Break event we attended was “Decorate a Mini Tree” event in November 2018. In previous months, my kids also made slime and stenciled a wood board to hang in their rooms.

After choosing a tree and paying for it, we headed to the Michael’s classroom. We could see that other kids had picked out different trees, and it was fun to see the variety that kids had chosen.

There were a variety of stations set up to make a different decorations. While the main project consisted of little homemade ornaments you could hang on your tree, my daughter went with little white pom-poms and kept her project simple.

The Make Break program at Michaels is a great way to get your kids off their devices and having fun making crafts. We usually go to these events in the winter months when the weather isn’t great and we don’t have much going on (compared to the summer months).

I like how Michaels has a variety of craft supplies available at the Make Break event so that you can really be creative and choose how you want to make your project. We have found that the kids are usually inspired to do some other crafts as well, so we shop for some craft supplies before going home.
