I received a copy of Kat Writes a Song in exchange for my honest review.
We do a lot of reading in our household. Ever since the kids were very little, we made a habit of reading every day, especially every night before bed. We are also fans of music and cats, so I was excited to check out “Kat Writes a Song”, a new book both written and illustrated by Greg Foley. This title is available from Simon & Schuster this May 2018.
“Kat Writes a Song” is a beautiful hardcover book with a dust jacket. This is one of those books that makes a great gift to your child, or another child you know, and can be enjoyed on their bookshelf for years. It is recommended for ages preschool through kindergarten, and is also a nice book for kids to learn to read as well.
Right away I loved the illustration of Kat, which is an adorable character. And indeed, Kat is such a likable little cat, who just wants to brighten the day.
The story is lovely, and all about Kat finding positivity in her day.
It was a gray and rainy day. Kat was stuck indoors.
She was sad because she had no one to play with.
“I’ll write a song! That will make me feel better,” Kat said.
I definitely recommend this book for young children, as it is a sweet story about a cat finding a way to turn around a dreary day. It is a perfect book to read to children.
The illustrations are so adorable. It sounds like a sweet book!
This sounds like a cute book. I love cats. I also love the idea of a storyline encouraging doing something as creative as making music.
