Exercises to Achieve Toned Arms

Though most of us think that women love to get toned legs and aim to achieve it, what most of us do not know is that women dream of getting toned arms too. If you have good toned arms you can flaunt sleeveless dresses and be a hit among your peers and friends.

To achieve your dream of toned arms, you need to first wake up and try to make your dream come true. This can be easily done by following a good workout plan along with changes to your diet. Some of the best arm workouts for women are given below:

Cardio:

To achieve those toned arms you need to first do some cardio exercises. Toned arms are not easy to achieve, you need to reduce your total body fat. The arms will look good only when your fat percentage reduces and for that the best exercise is cardio. You can run, jog, bicycle or do the elliptical; all of them are good cardio workouts. Make it a point to mix them and do 15 minutes each of any two every day, six days a week. You need to give a rest to your body at least once a week.

Shoulder Press:

If you are thinking why you should do a shoulder press when you want toned arms, then you should know that you need to strengthen your shoulder and only then your toned arms will look good. You can do a shoulder press on a machine in the gym or you can use dumbbells to do it. Dumbbells are considered to be the better option and you can do dumbbell shoulder press while sitting or standing. Keep your feet apart, not too much apart, just your shoulder width. Then hold the dumbbells up, your elbows should be 90 degrees. Then slowly lift the dumbbell up staying erect and when done slowly revert to the original position. Do three sets of 10 repetitions.

Bicep Curls:

If you want to strengthen your upper body and get the definition on your arms you need to do the bicep curls. This is one of the most common exercises and you will see people doing them all the time. Just stand with your feet apart. Keep a dumbbell in both hands and then curl it towards your shoulder. Slowly bring it back to original position and start again. Do three sets of ten repetitions. Remember to use a moderate weight dumbbell. Do not use a dumbbell that is too heavy or too light. The ideal weight is one which you can do a set of 8-10 without too much stress.

Triceps Dips:

The most important muscles to get the perfect definition in your arms is the triceps. The often overlooked muscle is very important to get toned arms. The biceps will look good only if the triceps is exercised properly. To do a triceps dip you need to have a chair or bench. Keep your feet on the floor and your back to the chair or bench. Place your hands on the chair and heave yourself up and down.

These are some of the exercises that will help you achieve toned arms.
