It always seems that when summer approaches, we want to get beach-ready. I am a big label-reader, so that means stepping up my beauty routine, but without the chemicals!
~ Sunless tanner (and a natural sunscreen!) ~
I love a good tan, but I limit my sun exposure. I use lots of sunscreen, making sure it is natural.
To make up for the lack of tan, I use a sunless tanner. There are natural sunless tanners on the market so that you can avoid the sun exposure and chemicals.
~ Natural nail polish ~
Most nail polishes are full of chemicals. Look for natural brands that are free of things like toulene, Formaldehyde, and Dibutyl phthalate (DBP). Skip the chemicals (many of which are banned in other countries and are known carcinogens) and go for a more natural nail care routine.
~ Hello Whitening Toothpaste ~
There was a time I loved whitening strips and other chemicals, but I have found it is easy to whiten my teeth without the chemicals. The Hello toothpaste brand has lots of great toothpastes that aren’t full of dyes and chemicals, including a great whitening formula. It actually works, and bonus – it doesn’t bother my sensitive teeth (and the pure mint flavor is great).
~ Eat healthy & drink lots of water ~
This one is pretty straightforward – you are what you eat! The healthier you eat, it will show! Skip sugary drinks and opt for water, which will help cleanse and hydrate.
~ Exfoliate & Moisturize with Coconut Oil ~
Exfoliating is a must before using any self tanner, and the combination of exfoliating and using coconut oil will make your skin smooth. It helps with things like preventing ingrown hairs when shaving. Focus on areas like heels and toes. I have a pumice stone and I love it.
~ Supplements ~
If you don’t already take supplements, stay on top of getting nutrients (even with balanced diet) at least with a multivitamin. There are plenty of supplements out there for general health, beauty, hair, skin, and nails. For example, collagen, which is wonderful for not just skin, but joints. A hair, skin and nails formula will contain biotin and other ingredients.
I think drinking water and stay hydrated is one of the best tips and I want to follow. I’m interested in the two pace that whitens your teeth I’m going to look into that.
Great tips! Drinking a lot of water keeps me stay hydrated. I use coconut oil as one of my skin care products.
I’ve been doing my best to switch to all natural products simply because they’re so much better for my skin. I think these are awesome and all worth a try!
I never thought about the chemicals in nail polish. The one thing I do faithfully is keep my toes polished.
I swear by coconut oil for taking care of my face.
I love to get a little color in the summer. I have been using sunless tanners for a few years now and I love it. The sun is so strong now it just is not safe to go tanning anymore.
Staying natural during the summer isn’t difficult but it does take some planning. Gaining color with skin damage is something I am working on.
These are excellent tips. I love using natural products as much as possible. Too much exposure from the sun can really damage your skin. A sunless tanner is a smart move.
Great summer beauty tips. I love sunless tanner too, good tips on exfoliation and moisturizing!
These are some great natural summer beauty tips! I’m definitely going to try some of these. Thanks for sharing.
We always start craving our favorite swimwear in the summertime. I love knowing what I’m putting on my body, so I get to use more beauty products without harsh chemicals. I use a sunless tanner to compensate for my pale skin. Sunless tanning is offered to help you avoid exposure to the sun and potentially dangerous chemicals.
I think that you definitely can’t do without sunblock, the main thing is not to burn out under the summer sun!
Sometimes I use sunblock, sometimes from sunburn, but without them in the summer I just can’t cope.
