Boston Fern

I received this product in exchange for my honest review.

Lately, I don’t have time for a lot of things that require extra work.  While I love gardening and plants in general, I have lost more than usual over the past year because we are so busy and don’t have enough time to properly maintain them.  Plus, we have kids and pets that tend to make caring for plants more difficult.

Artificial plants have come a long way over the years.  Years ago, I probably wouldn’t consider a silk or other artificial plant, but now they look very realistic.  It took me quite some time to pick out an artificial plant, but when I saw the Boston Fern, I knew I had to have it.  For one, I love having greenery outside on my porch – but it costs a lot of money to buy plants like ferns every summer and throw them away just a few months later.  It feels really wasteful, after tending to such a nice plant.  Plus, I don’t have the best conditions for hanging baskets around the house, so it is a constant struggle to find a spot without too much or too little sun.

My Boston Fern arrived very carefully packaged.  I was impressed with it right out of the box.  The fern is ready to go – “planted” in a nice basket and hanging from a set of braided ropes.  I simply took it out of the box and hung it on my porch.

Boston Fern

This Boston Fern has plenty of unique details, from a variety of leaves to little shoots coming up.  You can see how there is a lot of variation within the plant, which helps make it look real.

Boston Fern

I love that at the end of the summer, I don’t have to throw away a plant, which is throwing away money.  I used to try to salvage my live Boston Ferns, but they make a huge mess and the cat tries to eat it, so it just isn’t worth it.  I love my artificial Boston Fern!

There are so many artificial plants to choose from, from silk flowers to succulents and even an artificial boxwood hedge for outdoors.  I love being able to green up my home and even the outdoors without the maintenance of real plants.
