The nation’s largest Christian touring brand, Life Surge, features some of the most inspiring stars in the world at its live, in-person events that pack arenas from Jacksonville, Florida, to Seattle, Washington.
Life Surge will welcome award-winning actor Dennis Quaid to its upcoming San Francisco event on Jan. 11, 2025, at Cow Palace Arena. The gathering features NFL legend Joe Montana, professional surfer Bethany Hamilton, and motivational speaker Nick Vujicic. Multiplatinum worship artist Taya will lead praise sessions throughout the daylong conference, bringing together faith and business in an unprecedented way for Bay Area believers.
This will be a reunion of sorts for Quaid and Hamilton. Quaid starred in Soul Surfer, the 2011 film based on Hamilton’s devastating shark attack that took her arm but helped her find her faith in God.
Quaid has been vocal about his Christian faith. He released a gospel album, Fallen, and told Fox News Digital that his faith is what keeps him going.
“It has gotten me through hard times. It has gotten me through good times, too,” Quaid said. “Good times and gratitude. I lean on God when it comes to the hard times as well. You know, we all need that. It’s something that gives me a lot of joy.”
Quaid’s struggles with cocaine addiction eventually led him back to his Christian roots. He ditched the drugs and returned to the Christian faith that had been instilled in him as a boy attending Sunday school. “[I] read the Bible again, cover to cover, and was really struck by the words of Jesus, and that’s where my personal relationship with Jesus started,” Quaid said. “That’s grown over the years.”
What Happens at a Life Surge Event?
At a Life Surge event, spiritual faith is combined with business entrepreneurship to inspire attendees. “Our mission is to open doors for attendees to experience growth in their personal lives, careers, and businesses — building wealth, creating legacy, and thriving for generations to come,” lifesurge.com states.
Led by CEO Joe Johnson, the organization has shown remarkable success since its inception, hosting well-attended events that consistently fill venues across numerous cities within its first three years of operation. Each Life Surge gathering centers around what Johnson calls the “Four W’s of Kingdom Impact”: worship, wisdom, work, and wealth-creation strategies. Attendees join thousands of like-minded believers for praise and worship sessions. Speakers share practical business knowledge alongside biblical principles. The events provide concrete tools for wealth creation through market trading and business development.
“We want to raise up a community of faith-minded people who can impact the culture,” explains Rob Collins, Life Surge’s chief marketing officer. Its Seattle event drew 8,000 attendees, with 1,257 people making faith commitments.
Record-Breaking Growth and Impact
Life Surge has experienced significant expansion over the past three years. The organization maintains strict standards for its platform. “If we detect any lack of genuineness, speakers won’t appear at our events,” Johnson says. “Our community deserves real role models who truly live out their faith.” This commitment to authenticity has made Life Surge highly selective with speakers, regularly declining requests due to limited slots.
Madison Martin, Life Surge’s marketing director, adds, “We are called to maximize our influence to change culture for Christ. And I think that that’s really important.”
The January event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 5:30 p.m. Australian activist and evangelist Christine Caine will share insights on faith-driven leadership, while entrepreneur Ed Mylett returns to discuss generational impact. The Benham Brothers, real estate entrepreneurs turned speakers, will connect spiritual growth with practical business training.
“The power of the effectiveness of what we do is because of community, local communities, local like-minded people, building relationships and getting together,” Johnson says.
Life Surge’s vision aims to go beyond financial success toward transformed families, strengthened communities, and restored cultural influence — achieved through biblical principles of wealth creation and stewardship. The organization focuses on what Johnson calls “God’s way all the way,” refusing to compromise their values for industry norms.
The San Francisco gathering advances Life Surge’s core mission: inspiring, transforming, and equipping people to surge their lives God’s way. The event promises to continue the tradition of combining practical business wisdom with spiritual growth, creating an atmosphere where thousands of Christians can learn, worship, and grow together.
“Our events are all about community, bringing people together to worship, connect, and grow right where they are,” lifesurge.com informs. “By gathering leading Christian voices, business innovators, entrepreneurs, and worship teams, we create spaces where lives are transformed.”
