A destination wedding can be a wonderful way to celebrate your marriage and create lasting memories with your loved ones. There are many benefits of a destination wedding, from beautiful backdrops to doing your vows somewhere exciting.
I got married in Mexico, on the Mayan Riviera, along a beautiful beach in a gazebo. It was an amazing place to get married! Read about my Mayan Riviera Wedding.
Here are some benefits of having a destination wedding!
Unique Experience
A destination wedding allows you to have a unique and unforgettable experience that you and your guests will cherish for a lifetime. You can choose a location that is special to you and your partner, such as a beach or a mountaintop, or somewhere memorable that you visited during your relationship, and create a truly personalized celebration.
More Intimate
Destination weddings often have fewer guests than traditional weddings, which can make the event more intimate and allow you to spend more quality time with each of your guests.
You can also make it an elopement with just the two of you. An elopement is usually planned over a short amount of time, but more modern elopements can be planned out, and can be in combination with a reception back at home.
Save Money
Traditional weddings can cost tens of thousands of dollars, whereas destination weddings can be far cheaper. You can create a wedding that is much cheaper than the average wedding. For example, you can hire a justice of the peace to do your ceremony at the beach, and find a more affordable photographer.
According to Thomas Bui wedding planner, many resorts and venues that offer destination weddings also provide all-inclusive packages that include everything from the ceremony to the reception, accommodations, and even activities and excursions. This can simplify the planning process and make it easier to budget for your wedding. This can be your chance to have an all-inclusive resort destination wedding, which may be far easier to plan versus coordinating details through various vendors.
If you are using a destination wedding to save money, there are lots of ways you can keep costs down, from minimizing the expenses you might encounter with a traditional wedding, such as flowers, decorations, and so on. There are lots of ways to use beach wedding decor that is inexpensive but beautiful.
Built-in Honeymoon
Having a destination wedding allows you to combine your wedding and honeymoon into one unforgettable trip. You can spend quality time with your partner in a beautiful location and start your marriage off with a romantic adventure. You may also be able to spend more time on your honeymoon if you have saved money on a wedding.
A destination wedding can also give you and your guests the opportunity to explore a new destination and experience a different culture. You can plan activities and excursions, such as snorkeling, hiking, or visiting local attractions, to make the most of your time in the area.
Overall, a destination wedding can be a wonderful way to celebrate your marriage in a unique and unforgettable way, while also providing a chance to explore a new destination and create lasting memories with your loved ones.
I bet it would be gorgeous! I’m too cheap to ever pay for it though. We just got married in a courthouse.
This would be such a lovely wedding. Very beautiful photos too. My husband and I never had an actual wedding, we got married at the courthouse.
I wish that I did this for my wedding. This can be for a future event.
I’ve been married twice and if I ever do decide to get remarried I’ll just elope or go on a destination wedding with just me, my so, and kids. And of course if he has kids they can come too.
I would love to renew my vows and have a destination ceremony for that. I’d love to fly off to Hawaii or France!
I’m thrilled to share that my spouse and I will be renewing our vows on our 25th wedding anniversary, and we’re planning a destination ceremony to celebrate!
I love the dies of a Destination wedding and that is how I would do it if I ever did it again 😉 I love just having the closest of people there to share your social day!
Destination weddings look so pretty, though I’m sure it makes it difficult for people to attend if money is tight so it probably would be great for a small ceremony before a larger local one!
Wow! This looks so great and very beautiful! Definitely a great way to celebrate that special wedding event for a couple! Why did I only read this now? We’ve just done this too!
