Atlantic City has also been referred to as the little sister of Las Vegas. It’s where you can party, gamble and be entertained all year round. It’s own city motto is ‘The World’s Famous Playground’. That should tell you all you need to know. ‘AC’ is where you can come and let your hair down. It has one of the largest coast in the country. So you can expect some excellent water sports and leisure activities here. Originally established as a health resort in the 1800s, it’s since become a city where you can enjoy the finer things in life, dine in amazing restaurants, enjoy the Colonial and Havana-style architecture and roam the beaches to your heart’s content. It reminds you of Florida or Miami, because AC also has high-rise hotels and plenty of nightclubs. This place really does come alive when the sun goes down. The amazing thing is, the city only has a population of around 39,000. So there’s plenty to go around for everyone.

Old but gold

The Steel Pier is the oldest theme park in the entire city, but it’s still the most loved. It’s classic carnival rides mixed in with some modern amenities. You can ride the kite flyer and see the park from an angle unlike any other. With the beach and the waves nearby, it’s one of the best places to hangout in the evenings. There are plenty of kids rides so the children will be occupied for a long time. While you’re here you have to go on the famous ferris wheel and enjoy the lightshow from the tallest height possible. If you don’t want something that’s laid back, then place yourself in the seat of the slingshot. A ride that’s not for the fainthearted, it will launch you at great velocity, pinning you back in the seat under high g-forces. In just 1.5 seconds, you’ll shoot up 225-feet, amounting to a load of 5Gs on your body. All in all, that works out to 100mph and around 0-60 in just 1 second.

The golden tower

Of course while you’re here in Atlantic City, you’ll want to rest and freshen up close to the action. Hence why you need to book yourself into the Borgata Hotel. It’s one of the most recognizable landmarks for miles, with it’s golden window tint is the best building in the city. However, it’s not just excellent room service, quality rooms and brilliant dining options, they also have a SPA. there’s one thing special about this spa in particular and it’s the fact that it’s 300-feet above sea level. Their Sea C facial is designed to give your skin a balanced tone, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines. They use strong antioxidants that have an anti-aging affect on your face as well as making your complexion look brighter and healthier. If you live in a congested area like New York, this is something you’ll want to try. They have 16 experiences at their spa, each one of them designed to take care of your aches, pains and beauty imperfections in a different way.

Looking out to sea

Why on earth would you go to a coastal city and not enjoy the beach? Brigantine Beach is easily the best place to watch the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean. Smooth flat waters coupled with an orange and red sunset, must be enjoyed barefoot on the white sands of this amazing beach. As you would imagine, there are plenty of bars and restaurants that are parallel to the beach. However on some weekends there you have the opportunity to have your own barbecue on the beach. You have to adhere to the basic instructions such as cleaning up after yourself and being responsible with fire etc, but if you’ve traveled with friends and want a beach party, you can cook your own fresh food. Just like any other classic beach, there’s also horse riding on offer; which is great for adults and children alike. Other leisure activities like kite-flying and volleyball are also permitted on the beach. One of the best things is the movie night, where family-friendly movies are enjoyed on a gigantic screen with the calm waves as the backdrop.

Atlantic City might be a smaller version of Las Vegas, but it’s got all the qualities you would expect. The amazing hotels for one, are perhaps the best part. The classic rides and activities for children are plentiful in the theme park. The beach isn’t just for sunbathing but barbecues, movies, bars and sports.
