Our family loves animals and exploring, so we have had a variety of pets as well as creatures we come across in the outdoors. Please note that we never keep any wildlife that we find, and we are careful about handling and promptly releasing any critters.
Not only do the kids love exploring nature, they also love any kind of “rescue” they can do, whether it is picking earthworms off the road after a rainstorm or saving frogs out of pool drains.
The Exo Terra Flat Home Reptile Faunarium is a great container for creatures, whether you are transporting a reptile or if you need it for other uses.
Ours measures 14″ x 8″ x 6″, but there is also a larger size available.
One of the first things I noticed about the Faunarium is that the lid conveniently slides open. We have had some critter cages in the past that we struggled with getting the top panel open, and it’s nice that this opens easily but also slides to close securely.
This terrarium is nice to have on hand, from the back yard to when we travel. The kids are always checking out critters and learning about them.

Wow! That sounded and looked like a sturdy container! I am not really a big fan of reptiles/critters and seeing the photos of you or your kids holding some seemed amazing to me!
I think it’s something that my adventurous daughter would like to have. I will show her your post.
Looks like a nice container for the garden. I’ve never been a fan of creatures like this, but my brother would always pick up creepy crawlies x
I am so scared of reptiles, and I was reading this amazing story and realized that maybe there is no reason for my hear! I am sure your girls love it!
What fun! My kids would have so many things to fill this guy up with!
I feel like I would have absolutely LOVED that as a kid!
I used to ‘rescue’ frogs and worms when I young too haha 🙂 something like this would have been the perfect home for them. Hope your children have lots of fun with it!

Phew, I had to take deep breaths on this one. The faunarium does look very well made.
