I received a copy of this album in exchange for my honest review.
Hot Peas ‘N Butter is a NYC based multicultural family music band, and is back with a new album this July 6. “Back to the Land” is a positive, uplifting album about the world around us.
The first song kicks off the album with a wonderful tune about appreciating our earth. I recognized other familiar children’s artists, like Laurie Berkner. There are other great guests on this album, including Dan Zanes and Peter Yarrow. It is nice to hear a mix of vocals throughout, and the band does such a wonderful job with the instrumentals as well.
While I am often quick to cruise through children’s songs as I sample them, I found myself actually savoring the sounds on this album. Back to the Land has a great children’s appeal, but the songs have such an inviting sound to them that I was actually listening to the music, rather than it fading into the background.
This is such a feel-good album, and not only is the music enjoyable, but the lyrics have lots of great messages about appreciating our earth. This is not just about grateful, but taking a moment to savor what the earth gives to us, from animals to sunshine.
This sounds like a fun album to listen to with the kiddos!
Now I have something to listen to when I’m babysitting my niece and nephew! Such a nice album.
This album sounds so amazing! Love the kindness and care about the earth sung about!
This sounds so nice! I’ll definitely be passing this along to some of my momma-to-be friends!
