GREEN TEA vs MATCHA in terms of texture

Green tea and Matcha Tea have different textures which play an important role in influencing its taste, content and others. Green teas are usually in uncrushed form or rather in the form of loose tea leaf. These leaves are steeped in hot water and then are removed by using a strainer or an infuser.

On the other hand, Matcha tea is in the form of powder, they are not steeped in hot water instead they are mixed with water and then converted into a smooth paste. Because of the difference in the form of both the teas, Green tea has a plain texture whereas Matcha Tea has a smooth texture.

MATCHA TEA vs GREEN TEA in terms of caffeine content

Though Matcha tea and Green tea both are basically the same but both of them have different caffeine content. This is because of their form or rather texture. Green tea is in the form of loose tea whereas Matcha tea is crushed and is in powdered form. This powdery texture of Green tea increases the caffeine content of the tea. Matcha tea often loses its essential oil and minerals in the process of being crushed and therefore has a higher percentage of Caffeine in it. This is the reason why bagged Green teas should be avoided because they are processed which increases their caffeine content.

MATCHA GREEN TEA vs GREEN TEA in the process of production

Matcha Green tea and Green Tea derive their origin from the same plant that is Camellia Sinensis plant but they are processed differently. Matcha Green Tea is produced differently from Green tea. A special care is taken for the production of Matcha Green tea. The Matcha bushes are mostly kept in shadow or in cover. This is done to increase the percentage of chlorophyll along with Amino acid in Matcha tea.

Whereas on the other hand, Green tea is kept in the sun for a longer time when compared to Green tea. This process increases the nutritional content of Matcha Green Tea.

GREEN TEA POWDER vs MATCHA

It is often noticed that people misunderstand Green Tea powder as Matcha, but it is not true. Green Tea powder and Matcha are different things altogether. Matcha tea has a bright Green colour because of the presence of chlorophyll in it whereas, Green tea powder has a rather dull colour similar to the colour of olives. Matcha is generally more expensive than Green tea powder because they have a smoother texture than Green tea. This is because when crushed, the veins and the stems are not removed from the leaves. This makes the Green tea powder uneven.

Whereas in the case of Matcha, the stem and veins are removed, this gives the tea a smoother texture than Green tea powder.

MATCHA vs GREEN TEA percentage of antioxidants

Matcha tea and Green tea, both of them are packed with immense antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Both the teas have a lot of Health benefits. Matcha tea generally has more antioxidant minerals and useful acids than Green tea. This is because during the process of production they are stored in cover.
