You don’t have to be a professional cook to know how to grill the perfect steak for your backyard BBQ parties. You just need to follow the right steps, and you will have a mouth-watering meal in no time. Before you go ahead to grill your steak, you should consider getting the perfect grill, especially if you want excellent results.

These steps are proven to give you the best results, and you can never go wrong with them.

Buy Fresh Meat from Butchers

Some people make the mistake of buying their steak from the grocery store for grilling. The only way you can get a delicious steak is by using fresh ingredients. Your meat has to be of good quality, and you can only find this at a butcher’s shop. They are usually grass-fed and raised in healthy conditions. A high-quality dry aged steak is also a good choice if you want to experience grilling the perfect steak. The dry-aging process makes these steaks more tender than fresh steaks.

Cut Your Steak Right

Many people prefer to use lean cuts for their grilled steak, but this would only come out dry, and the steaks will look bland. You would do well with a cut that a little fat and marbling which will give it a great taste. You won’t need to do so much work preparing the meat in the grill with the little extra fat on the steak. The saturated fat should be moderate and that makes beef perfect for steak. Beef contains at least 40% monounsaturated fat.

Rub Your Steak With Fresh Garlic

You will need a clove of garlic that should go around the steak completely, and then have the side of the steak cut. The fresh garlic will at more flavor to your steak. Make sure the garlic goes around the entire steak including the sides and edges.

Add Your Salt For Seasoning

You still need other ingredients for your grilled steak. You will need to add whole peppercorns and sea salt. You can mill these two together to get a great seasoning. After you are done with that,  you should add a good amount of sea salt mixed with fresh pepper on both sides of your steak till it is properly seasoned.

Freeze Your Steak For 45 Minutes

After salting, you should freeze your steak briefly for up to 45 minutes to get a beautiful brown crust before you grill it. If you want your steak to come out with an even nicer crust, you need to use a grill with temperature ranges that heat up faster than regular home grills. Most commercial grills have a hot cooking temperature that quickly absorbs the moisture on the surface of the steak and will make your steak have a brown crust. If you don’t have this type of grill, you can still get that brown crust by putting your steak in your freezer unwrapped. You will need to place the steak on a paper towel-lined with a baking sheet for 45 minutes.

Use Good Cooking Fat

You need to use the right oil for grilling your steak. You should try organic butter instead of the popular extra virgin olive oil used for cooking. The extra virgin olive oil is not good for grilling because it will cause a lot of smoke. The organic butter is more stable and is just as tasty as the virgin olive oil.

Cook With Right Grill Temperature

You may need a digital meat thermometer to check the heating temperature of your grill so you can cook your steak perfectly. The temperature for grilling steak on gas grills is a crucial part of grilling to get the doneness right to where you want it, so a thermometer is a must. So whether you want medium, rare, or well done, this tool helps you achieve your desired output. For instance, a medium-rare steak should be cooked at a temperature of about 130 °F. If the steak is overdone, it won’t be perfect. Before you start cooking, you need to preheat your gas grill to a temperature of about 450°F to 500°F.

When you apply the organic butter allow it to melt, so turn it around for it to coat the pan. You should sear each side of the steak in the pan every two to five minutes until it’s beautifully brown.
