Seattle has so much to offer and is a great place for families to visit and explore. Whether your trip is short or long, you don’t want to miss out on the best things to see in Seattle. Be sure to do your research ahead of time and come up with an itinerary, or at least a list of items that are a priority, to make travel easier — especially if you’re visiting with kids.

Comfortable and Convenient Lodging

It is important to find somewhere that is both convenient and a nice place to stay. You’ll want to get in some good hours of exploring during the day and be able to relax and get a good night’s sleep and recharge. There are lots of hotels right in the heart of the city that will offer proximity to many of Seattle’s most popular attractions.

Seattle has so much fantastic food to choose from, no matter what you are looking for. Start off your morning with some good coffee, which you might just need to keep you going all day! There are lots of excellent local foods, like freshly caught fish (think Pike Place Market) and fruit and vegetables from nearby farms.

You also have your choice of cuisines, from dim sum at the Chinatown-International District to avocado toast at a cafe along the waterfront.

Museums

While smaller cities often have just a few museums to choose from, Seattle has quite a few to choose from. These museums will keep the whole family busy for hours, exploring things like the history of flight, glass creations, art, and more. These are all memorable places to explore and are a good learning experience for kids as well.

Aquarium

The Seattle Aquarium is a lovely place to visit as a family. Kids will stay entertained while exploring various sea life, and it’s a perfect way to get indoors if you encounter some rainy Seattle weather.

Great Outdoors

While Seattle is known for its rain, the city also offers many opportunities to get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful scenery, which includes Mt. Ranier as an amazing backdrop for this busy area. Parks are a nice chance to take in the views and get some fresh air. With so much shoreline, Seattle is also ideal for water sports. Check out seals and sea lions at Alki Beach, explore beaches with tide pools, or simply soak up the views from the shore. You can rent things such as kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and more, or take a boat tour instead if you prefer.

Going on a family trip to Seattle is full of great adventures. Plan ahead for your trip so you can fully enjoy your time in this wonderful city.
