Green Harbor Resort, Cape Cod

Green Harbor Resort

The last couple years, we have visited Green Harbor Resort in West Yarmouth, MA, and it is one of our favorite places to stay on Cape Cod.

There are lots of different accommodations available at Green Harbor Resort.  There are suites, cottages and townhouses, which are different sizes and amenities (such as some have an ocean view or deck).  We have stayed in different rooms and enjoyed them all, especially having a kitchen area so that we can make our own food.

There are two big things that make Green Harbor Resort one of our favorite places to stay.  First, is that you can walk right to beach, and second is that there is a heated pool.

Walking to the beach is a huge plus when you have kids.  That means you don’t have to load up the car and drive to the beach.  We have shlepped to many beaches in Cape Cod over the years, and while some are definitely extraordinary, it is a hassle.  We have been stuck in a big long line of cars waiting to pay for a beach parking pass.  I have flashbacks of the kids crying in the car while we are stuck in a line we can’t get out of, only to have to trudge all our gear down to a beach and have to search for things like bathrooms and water.

There is a beachfront, and also an inlet that is fun for beach-combing, fishing, and things like kayaking.  We always find a variety of fun things at the beach, from horseshoe crabs to snails and fish.

The inlet is teeming with fiddler crabs and much more, and the kids love exploring.

The heated pool has become a must for our vacations.  For one, the water on Cape Cod beaches can be extremely cold.  Coupled in with things like big waves, the pool becomes a really great option for the kids.  My kids have spent so much time in the pool at Green Harbor Resort – even in the rain!

The kitchen has been a really great amenity for us, for several reasons.  The kids and I are vegetarian and my daughter has a peanut allergy.  There were times we definitely regretted trudging around to different seafood restaurants trying to find food we liked or even a place that there wasn’t a huge wait.  Little kids and long wait times don’t mix, and it is nice to be able to just cook at the resort while everyone took turns showering or relaxing.

Not only is there a beach just a short walk from the room, but there is a playground and other fun things for kids to do, from this little beach tunnel to mini golfing.

We have also done a variety of things outside the resort, like a trip to Provincetown, local hikes and shopping.  There are plenty of amenities both on and off the resort, so there is a nice balance of things to do both on and off-site.

I’ve never been to Cape Cod and have always wanted to go there. This looks like a fun place, I like that they’ve included fun things for the kids too. Cute swim fins!

I’ve never been to Cape Cod before but it’s definitely on my travel bucket list. I’ll have to check out the Green Harbor Resort if I’m ever in that area.

Horseshoe crabs honestly freak me out because they remind me of some ancient creature (trilobyte?). I’ve never been to Cape Cod, but I’ve always wanted to!

My soul yearns to live near a beach. Every time I close my eyes, I envision myself sitting on the sand, watching the sunset over the horizon. Ah, here I go again. Dreaming endless dreams. Cape Cod looks very pretty and the resort is not as crowded as the other more popular places – which is good. I love quiet, hidden, comfortable and homey places to stay in when on vacation.

Would love to take my grandchildren there someday, when they are old enough to travel that far. I love the accommodations at Green Harbor Resort. If I were there, I would book for a townhouse. A home away from home.
