Sunology Natural Sunscreen

This product was provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

I put a lot of care into avoiding chemicals, whether it is on my skin or what I use to clean the house.  I am also very careful about sun exposure, especially for my two children, both of whom are very fair.  We go through a lot of sunscreen, and it is important to me that we use natural products on our skin.

Sunology is a line of sunscreens that uses natural ingredients, so that you can protect yourself from the sun without using chemicals.  Too often I have bought a sunscreen only to discover there are some scary chemicals in them, such as  Oxybenzone, Avobezone, Octisalate, or Homosalate.  My daughter has sensitive screen and eczema, and even the sunscreens designed for kids are full of undesirable ingredients, especially the sprays (which are full of propellants and alcohol).  It is not surprising that she has a reaction to these sunscreens, from an eczema breakout to complaining that the sprays burn her skin.

Sunology offers broad-spectrum protection without the use of any man-made chemicals in our active ingredients. Our natural active ingredients are designed to physically screen UV radiation by reflecting harmful rays and protecting the skin. Sunology’s inactive ingredients contain vitamins and antioxidants that supplement the skin’s natural oils, promoting healthy, youthful skin.

Sunology Sunscreen

My Sunology face sunscreen comes in a nice tube with a flip-top cap.  It dispenses neatly and easily, without making a mess.  It has a very light, natural scent that doesn’t bother me.  All too often sunscreens are full of fragrance, which I don’t like on my skin, no less my face.  I like that Sunology doesn’t have much of a scent at all.

My husband and I are both always looking for a good sunscreen for our face, as a lot of them tend to make us break out or have skin irritation.  This product has not bothered my skin, and I like the consistency, which feels like it provides good coverage.  Sunology for Face goes on smoothly, and it coats skin well.  Unlike many sunscreens that are absorbed into the skin, Sunology reflects the sun from on the skin.

There are so many great things about this sunscreen:

 – 50 SPF (maximum allowed under FDA 2013 Rules)
– Active ingredients Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide derived from natural sources

– Made with VitaOleféra™ to moisturize the skin

– UV MicroReflexion™ reflects the sun’s harmful UVA/UVB rays

– FSG Complex™ to aid skin health

– Water resistant up to 80 minutes (maximum allowed under FDA 2013 Rules)

I go through a lot of sunscreen in the summer, and I feel like it is counter-productive to be protecting my skin with products that are so full of chemicals.  Sunology is a really great natural sunscreen alternative for the whole family.

  1. 1

I’m very glad there is now natural sunscreen. I’ve never liked having to use those with lots of chemicals. My daughter and I are very fair skinned and get sun burns quickly. Some sunscreens bothered our skin too. Will keep my eye out for this brand.

I have sensitive skin, and some sunscreens are just to strong for my skin. I tend to go with natural sunscreens they work better with my sensitive fair skin. I will have to give this a shot.

I need this kind of sunscreen. I love that it has zinc in it

I can only wait until the weather is warm enough to have to use sunscreen again. Doesn’t look like that will be for another 6 months at least!
