Soothie Suckers ~ Herbal Supplements for Kids (**GIVEAWAY**)

Soothie Suckers Immune Support

This product was provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

I have always used natural remedies to help treat cold symptoms and more.  However, with kids, it is a different story.  Dosing can be tricky, and the taste can mean they may not want to willingly take the remedy you are trying to give them.  There have been times I kind shuddered at the thought of taking a particular herb (such as echinacea, goldenseal, or astragalus, to name a few!).

Soothie Suckers were designed by a mom who had the same thought process as myself:

Happy, healthy children need natural support to help keep them smiling and at their best. In fact, that’s exactly what led Marietta Harrison to create Soothie Suckers. She went in search of natural and gentle ways to promote the health of her five children, and in doing so she discovered a world of herbs that parents have turned to for thousands of years. Tapping into that ancient wisdom, Marietta developed Soothie Suckers as a safe and fun way to keep kids immune systems strong–and as a way to empower parents to make natural and healthy choices for their children.  Soothie Suckers provides great tasting, pre-measured herbal remedies formatted for children. These proprietary herbal formulas are packaged in ice pop pouches and come in two natural flavors (grape and orange) for daily or seasonal consumption. These first formulas help support the immune system and the upper respiratory system. Expiration date stamped on each pop to insure highest quality.

Soothie Suckers

There are two kinds of Soothie Suckers.  My kids know them as “orange” and “grape”, but there are actual two formulas – the orange flavor is Immune Support, and the grape flavor is Nasal Support.

I wasn’t sure when we would have a chance to try out the Soothie Suckers, but sure enough, my daughter came home from school one day with a cough.  This is a familiar fall cold symptom for us, where she has some congestion and there is a lot of coughing.  Both kids saw the Soothie Sucker boxes and descended on them, wanting to know if they could have the pops.

You can serve the pops however you like – either unfrozen (a good option for impatient kids or if you want to get a dose in before the pops have time to freeze), or frozen.  The first time we tried these, the kids had just come home from school with the sniffles, and I hadn’t had a chance to get the Soothie Suckers in the freezer.  I figured it was the true test if the were going to like these, so without the allure of a “frozen treat”, I put these up to the test.  Both kids drained their pop pouches in seconds, and the feedback was great – they wanted another!  (Note – the pops should only be given every 2-6 hours depending on the age of your child – be sure to check the box for dosing instructions).  My younger daughter is an extremely picky eater, so to be honest, I was surprised how much she liked these.

Soothie Suckers

I put the rest of the pops in the freezer, and the kids have been asking for them since.  My 7-year-old has been battling a cold, and the other day, she asked if she could have a Soothie Sucker for breakfast!  Honestly, I was happy to oblige, and so there it was, a Soothie Sucker and some pear for breakfast.  It was essentially in lieu of juice, and it meant I could start off her day by getting in a dose of immune support before she was off to school.

The great part about these too is that when frozen, they offer a soothing treat for sore throats.

The Immune Support contains a blend of Echinacea Purpurea, Astragalus Root, Pau d’ Arco (Taheebo), Mullein, and Thyme.

The Nasal Support has a blend of Echinacea purpureaAstragalus RootPau d’ Arco (Taheebo), Pleurisy Root, Goldenseal.

There are no artificial flavors or colors, no alcohol, no high fructose corn syrup (this is sweetened with ingredients like agave and monk fruit).

I love the combination of herbs, perfect for supporting immune health and to get kids stronger and healthier.  Soothie Suckers has done a great job of turning a daunting task into something my kids ask for.  I can’t imagine creating a supplement on my own like this that my kids would gladly ask for!
