Pinecone Spiders

Pinecone Spiders

My kids love doing crafts, and they love everything Halloween!  We did this craft at my daughter’s 5th birthday party and the kids had a lot of fun making their spiders.  This is an easy craft that only requires a little bit of prep time, plus it isn’t messy.

Googly eyes & glue

Optional – black paint

Pinecone Spider

You can spray paint your pinecones ahead of time so that they are ready for the kids.  However, you could have older children paint their own pinecones with regular black paint and do this project in stages to allow for the pinecone to dry.

Using 4 long pipecleaners, work the centers into what will be the bottom of the pinecone.  We don’t use any glue, as the pinecone holds the pipecleaners into place.  Bend the legs into “spidery” legs!

Affix googly eyes with glue.

Your spider is done!
