If you are looking for a unique way to eat healthier, you might want to check out the Brieftons InstantVeg Spiralizer.  This is a product unlike any I have tried before – you can easily takes fruits and veggies and turns them into strands or ribbons for a wide variety of purposes!

Designed to transform almost any firm vegetable and fruit into delicious spaghetti-like strands or incredibly thin, long vegetable ribbons, the Brieftons InstantVeg Spiral Slicer is the indispensable kitchen gadget for every vegetable fan.

The spiralizer is very easy to use:

  • Select the desired slicing mode.  Pull the knob.  Turn to desired slicing mode.  Lock the knob into position.
  • Cut the vegetable/fruit into pieces of maximum 8cm in height, with 2 flat surfaces on both ends.
  • Insert the vegetable/fruit in the center of the container.  Push down on the turning handle to attach the vegetable holder firmly onto the upper end of the vegetable/fruit.
  • Turn the turning handle clockwise with a light, consistent pressure, until slicing is finished.
  • Cover the vegetable catcher with the aroma protection lid to store.
  • The InstantVeg can be used directly over bowls and pots without the vegetable catcher.

I had no problems following the directions and using the spiralizer.  If you have any issues, there are several videos on the Briefton’s website that walk you through assembly and using the product.

The first thing I just had to make with this product was zucchini noodles.  I have heard so much about these ‘zoodles’, I couldn’t wait to give them a try.  I washed my zucchini, cut off the top (stem) and put the Briefton’s spiralizer to work.  It was easy to make the zucchini noodles with little effort, and I did a quick saute of the noodles in a pan before tossing with some sauce.  What a great way to have a healthy alternative to regular grain noodles!

Cooking veggies in different shapes can make them a fun, more appealing way to get kids to eat their veggies!  When I cut carrots with a wave cutter, the kids are more inclined to eat them than when I just cut them straight.  Don’t ask me why, but in my house it works!

Another great thing about this product is that it is 100% BPA-free, food-safe, plastic.  Plus, the stainless steel blades are in an enclosed slicing tray design, so  there is no risk of finger injuries.

Overall, this is a great item to have in the kitchen.  There are so many possibilities of things you can make,
