Garlic & Onion Green Beans

Green Beans

This is a side dish we make a lot in our house.  It is easy to prepare, and the kids love it.  My daughter actually thought the coating had cheese in it!  I normally don’t use a lot of dried spices (as I prefer fresh), but in this case it works really well.

~ 1 lb frozen or fresh cut green beans

~ 3-4 tablespoons onion powder

~ optional: garlic powder to taste

~ salt to taste

~ butter (use a dairy-free alternative to make this dish vegan)

Melt some butter in a pan and add the green beans.  I am usually generous with how much butter I use, but you can limit it so that you use just enough to cook the green beans.

As the green beans cook, add in the onion powder to coat the green beans, as well as a dash of garlic powder if desired, as well as salt to taste.

I never actually measure the onion powder, and simply add enough to generously coat the green beans.  You can always add more as you go along and even at the end.

Stir and mix thoroughly as the green beans cook.

Once the green beans are cooked, they are ready!

I make a green bean casserole every year for Thanksgiving but this looks much better and maybe a little healthier. I think I’ll try this instead. I better do a practice run first, lol. I’m not exactly a whiz in the kitchen.

I do love green beans! This sounds like a tasty recipe and a different way for me to make them!
