As a big fan of chia seeds, I am always looking for ways to incorporate them into my diet. I had heard about Chia Fresca for some time, and now that the weather is heating up, I love the idea of a cool, hydrating drink using chia seeds.
This drink delivers the health benefits of chia seeds (omega-3s, fiber, nutrients, and more), while hydrating. This is a lightly flavored drink that is all natural and not heavily sweetened – a light, refreshing beverage!
- 2 Cups Water (or coconut water)
- 1 Tablespoon Salba Chia Whole Seeds
- 1/2 Tablespoon fresh lemon or lime juice (or to taste)
- 1/2 Tablespoon Stevia, sugar, or other sweetener (or to taste)
Add your ingredients to a glass and mix well.
Allow to sit for about 10 minutes, so that the chia seeds absorb water.
If possible, stir periodically to reduce clumping. You could also make this in a jar (such as a Mason jar with a lid) so that you can shake to mix.
