Almondina Cookies (**GIVEAWAY**)

Almondina Sampler

This product was provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

If you’re looking for a treat that won’t doesn’t have all the guilt associated with most cookies and sweets, check out Almondina cookies!  These unique cookies were created from the love of a family recipe, passed down through generations many years ago.  Almondina cookies have been made since 1929 and come in a variety of fantastic flavors.

Almondina® is the inspiring success story of a man whose great loves include both music and wonderful food. For generations his family loved his grandmother Dina’s most secret cookie, which she called Petit Gateau Sec.

What makes Almondina cookies unique is that they are a tasty treat, but have no added fat, no added salt, and no cholesterol.  I love their simple ingredients, when there are so many products out there that have a long list of ingredients, many times full of ingredients I can’t decipher.  I really appreciate not seeing additives, preservatives, artificial colors and flavors.  Even my kids can enjoy these!

Ingredients (Original): Almonds, Flour (wheat flour, malted barley flour), Pure Cane Sugar, Egg Whites, Raisins, Natural Flavors. Kosher Pareve.

Almondina Chocolate Cherry

Almondina cookies are available in over a dozen varieties.  I love that there is such a selection of flavors, as I can always find one to suit my mood.  Some of the flavors I had a chance to try included:

  • The Original
  • Choconut
  • Cinnaroma
  • Gingerspice
  • Chocolate Cherry
  • Sesame Almond

The cookies come carefully packaged.  They are thin, but very crunchy.  I like the crunch and that the nuts add a different texture to the cookies.

I  enjoyed trying the different flavors and combinations, such as Almond Chocolate Cherry, which combines chocolate with almonds and cherries – one of my favorites!  This flavor is wonderful especially if you have a craving for some chocolate.

Almondina Choconut

Another one of my favorites is the Almonduo flavor, which has both roasted almonds and pistachios.  These cookies are lightly sweet, with a great nutty taste.

Almondina Pistachio

My favorite way to enjoy Almondina cookies are with a cup of hot tea.  I drink tea throughout the day, and this is a nice treat to eat alongside it.  The flavors are very pleasant, but not overwhelming.  When I want something sweet, this is the perfect way to go without overindulging.  And because these aren’t overly sweet, I can enjoy the taste of my tea at the same time.  Many sweets are just too rich and leave me regretting them, but Almondina cookies are light, but satisfying.

Almondina cookies are a great way to have a treat without the regret.  Too many times I reach for something sweet and then I wish I hadn’t, but Almondina is a nice way for me to take a little break in my day.  I can even eat these after going to the gym without regretting it!  This is a perfect way to indulge a little without breaking my fitness resolutions, and I love having these on hand as well to serve to guests.
