We have often enjoyed a mango lassi as a treat when we eat at Indian Restaurants, but it is very easy to make at home. My kids love this drink and so we decided we would make our own.
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup mango
optional: sugar or other sweetener
Cut up fresh mango. If you are not familiar with cutting mango, cut lengthwise on each side of the large seed, which is approximately 1″ wide in the middle. Then cut a cross-hatch pattern and scoop out with a spoon. (This is my 6 year old removing chunks with a grapefruit spoon).
Combine fruit, milk, and yogurt in a blender, blending until completely smooth.
I recommend adding sugar (or whatever sweetener you prefer) after you have pureed the mango with the milk and yogurt to see just how much you would like to to sweeten. This will depend in part on the sweetness of your mango.
You can also add more mango to make a thicker drink.
