February is American Heart Month, and with a New Year underway, what better time to focus on living a healthy lifestyle.  It is so important to understand how to take good care of your heart.

I love that Welch’s Grape Juice is made with no added sugar.  One of the things I use it for is adding it to my smoothies.  I like to start my day off on the right foot, and so I often make morning smoothies with kale, fruit, and coconut milk.  Welch’s Grape juice adds some flavor and a little extra sweetness, which is great when I don’t have sweet ingredients (such as kale and tart strawberries).  The last thing I want to do is add sugar to a smoothie.

To make this smoothie, I use a couple leaves of kale (approx. 3 that are just larger than my hand), fruit (a banana, a handful of strawberries, or whatever else you like), and a cup of coconut milk.  Add 1/2 to 1 cup of Welch’s grape juice, depending on how much flavor/sweetness you like, and how thick or thin you want the smoothie to be.  You can also add chia seeds, flax seeds, matcha powder, etc. for an added health boost.
