I have really been enjoying making kale smoothies, especially as I use up the last of the kale from my garden. This is my favorite morning smoothie, chock full of delicious, nutritious ingredients, and quick and easy to make.
~ large handful of kale
~ 1 banana
~ 1.5 cups coconut milk
~ 1/2 to 1 tsp matcha powder
~ optional: approx. 1 tablespoon chia seeds, flax seeds, or any other ingredient to “boost” your smoothie!
~ optional: sweetener such as honey
Wash kale and break into pieces. Break or slice banana.
Place all the ingredients in the blender. Mix until smooth.
I use whole seed chia, but you can use ground chia, flax, or any other ingredients.
I am a big fan of using a banana in this smoothie, since it adds sweetness and has potassium which is great before hitting the gym, but you can substitute any fruit you like. another favorite of mine is frozen strawberries. Depending on the fruit you use, you may want to add a dash of honey or other sweetener.
