I love making crafts with my girls, but crafts can come with their fair share of frustrations.  I was excited to try My Lanyard Maker, which comes with everything you need to make all kinds of fun projects.  I remember making lanyards when I was a kid, at school and summer camp – so seeing this lanyard maker took me back to some really fond memories!

My Lanyard Maker makes it easy to work on projects.  Not only does it facilitate making lanyards, it has storage drawers built right in!  I love the built-in storage, which keeps everything right at hand and reduces the amount of mess left behind.  If it didn’t have the built-in storage, I’m sure I would find my two girls lanyard and supplies all over the house.  I also put a small pair of kid’s scissors right in one of the drawers, which is extremely convenient.

My Lanyard Maker

My Lanyard Maker comes with lots of great supplies, including:

  • 12 metal key rings
  • 12 plastic key rings in 6 colors
  • 100 pony beads in 10 colors
  • 18 flat plastic laces in 9 colors
  • 12 round plastic laces in 6 colors

I love the features of My Lanyard Maker.  My favorite parts include:

  • The Center Lace Holder in the middle of the board has a telescoping tube on the bottom.  You can make both square and round lanyards and the lanyard stays straight and level.
  • If you aren’t making a square or round lanyard, the S-hook attachment allows you to easily make flat lanyards.
  • The lace holders on the side make such a difference.  No more laces slipping out of your fingers and getting lost or tangled.

There are so many craft projects that I work on with my two girls, and I can’t tell you how many of those are really frustrating.  My Lanyard Maker is frustration free, because you place the lanyards in numbered slots on the sides of the board.  It keeps track of your lanyards and holds the laces for you, and the directions tell you exactly where to put each lanyard (in terms of numbered spots).  I know that I would have trouble making lanyards freehand, so I can imagine that it would be pretty frustrating for a child to have the dexterity and ability to make them easily.  The lanyard will drop down through the center as you work on it.

My Lanyard Maker

My Lanyard Maker comes with two instructional sheets, which shows you step-by-step how to complete a lanyard, such as the box knot.  You can also go online to their website and look at other lanyard tutorials, both in video form and text with pictures.  The kit alone had enough to keep us occupied for quite some time without going online to try any other ambitious projects!

My Lanyard Maker

My daughter has been really excited about all the different kinds of things she could make.  Her backpack already has a bunch of lanyards on it, and she is also making them for her friends as well.  I thought it was really sweet that she wants to make matching lanyards for her and her best friend, and she also made one for my key chain.

My Lanyard Maker

This is a fun craft item that allows you to create all kinds of projects.  They really thought of everything with this lanyard-making kit, and I’m glad that my girls can use this and have as much fun making lanyards as I did when I was a kid!  The Friendship Factory makes lots of great products in addition to My Lanyard Maker, including My Friendship Bracelet Maker and My Ribbon Barrette Maker!

Wow, I have not played or seen lanyards in years. I remember trying to get the lanyards in the right direction and it was always a bit of a struggle. What a great way to help make lanyards easier.
