Scotties Trees Rock! Video Contest (**+GIVEAWAY**)

Scotties Trees Rock Video Contest

This product was provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

With cold and flu season on it’s way, Scotties Facial Tissue is there for you!  And chances are, your kids may have already been sick at some point since the beginning of the school year.  Scotties offers lots of great tissue products, including 2-ply, 3-ply, and aloe tissues.  Their products come in a variety of boxes, from a reach-in box to cubes.  My favorites are the cubes for the kids (they can only pull out one tissue at a time), and the big reach in box that is 250-count (great on your nightstand when you’re really sick!).  I love the packaging, and you are sure to find a tissue and design that fits in your home!

Scotties Tissues Trees Rock

Our whole family uses these tissues, and we send boxes of Scotties Tissues in to our school classrooms as well, because you can only imagine how many tissues a class of 20 kids goes through!  My youngest was just diagnosed with seasonal allergies and my husband is known for his sinus infections, so needless to say, we have many boxes of tissues throughout our home.

Scotties Trees Rock

Scotties is like no other tissue – for every 1 tree used, they promise to plant 3 trees!  This brand of tissues is known for their sustainable initiatives, with tissues certified through the Sustainable Forestry Initiative and is linked with the Renewable Forest Project (RFP).  Scotties also works with American Forests to promote urban tree planting through their Scotties ReLeaf USA program.  I am very happy to be supporting a company, J.D. Irving, that has planted over 800 million trees over the past 50 years!

Among their many sustainable initiatives, Scotties has launched their second annual TREES ROCK! Video Contest!

This contest is open to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who submit a video about why trees are important to them, their school, and the community – and the winning entry will receive $10,000 to be used towards a sustainable project for their school!  They will also receive a TREES ROCK! Rock Concert and a celebratory tree planting ceremony at their school!

The TREES ROCK! Video Contest is designed to be a fun and active way for kids to discover how important trees are to our environment,” said John Robertson, Director of Marketing for Scotties Facial Tissues. “We are delighted to make this program an exciting way to challenge kids to explore their environment and find the same enjoyment in nature and the great outdoors that we do here at Scotties.”

Individuals or groups can enter a one-to-three minute video expressing in their own way “Why trees are so important to them, their school, and their community” and “What they would like to see their school do with the $10,000 prize money”.  You can enter until November 30, 2013!

I love that Scotties is getting kids excited about exploring the environment and doing something sustainable in their community!  Wouldn’t this be a great addition to your school and community?
