Halloween Decoupage Jars

Halloween Decoupage Jars

These cute Halloween jars are easy to make, and there are lots of fun things you can do with the finished product.  My kids had a lot of fun doing this craft and then displaying and using their jars.

Supplies needed:

  • Glue
  • Paintbrush
  • Orange tissue paper (cut up)
  • Green ribbon or raffia
  • Black Sharpie
  • Jars/containers – can be glass or plastic, various sizes

Halloween Decoupage Jars

Paint your jar with glue, working your way around the jar as you add squares of tissue paper.

Allow your jar to dry.

You can also paint the lid green or brown, depending on if you want to use a lid.

Once your jar is dry, draw on a Jack-o-Lantern face with a black Sharpie marker.

You can use these upcycled jars for lots of creative purposes.

~ Add a green ribbon or raffia around the top of the jar and fill with pumpkin seeds (or anything else) as a favor or small gift.

~ Place a flickering LED light inside for decoration as a tea light holder

~ Use for storing or giving Halloween candy.  We have done this project with a larger jar and put candy corn inside.

These are so cute! I really love the way they look with an artificial candle…a set of these in a window would be a lovely way to welcome trick or treaters!
