Salba Chia ~ For the Whole Family! (**GIVEAWAY**)

This product was provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

Salba Smart Chia is a part of my daily routine.  I usually start my day out with chia seeds, which are packed with so many benefits.  And I incorporate chia seeds into so many things.  So why not share those benefits with the whole family?

Chia seeds have so much to offer.  Gram for gram, they offer:

  • 325% more fiber than oatmeal
  • 800% more Omega-3 (ALA) than salmon (EPA/DHA)
  • 30% more antioxidants than blueberries (based on ORAC values)
  • 1500% more magnesium than broccoli
  • 200% more potassium than bananas

Salba Chia BoostIt is especially important for me to provide my kids with Omega-3’s, as we are a vegetarian family.  This is such a great source of the nutrients that growing kids need.  And I would much rather that they be getting vitamins and minerals from natural food sources and not just vitamins.

Plus, Salba Chia is Non-GMO Project Verified – so no worrying about what you are feeding your family.

Chia seeds are so versatile.  I have had people tell me that they don’t know how to use chia seeds, but it is incredibly easy to incorporate into your day.  I  put these in our granola without it altering the taste or texture.  My 6 year old has even asked me to to add some!  These little seeds add a little crunch to so many possible foods, like cereal!

Salba Chia

One of the things I make with my Salba chia seeds are energy bites.  My daughter asks me to make these instead of having regular dessert!

Hardest thing I did was to stop drinking soda. I am allergic to tannin, so can’t drink most teas, coffee, wine… So I lived on diet coke. But I gave it all up, and don’t even drink the diet waters. No fake sugars as much as possible. Stopped eating fast food almost entirely – every so often I have a Frosty. :)

I have been trying to make small changes like switching to non-dairy milk and having a cup of tea in the morning instead of coffee. I’ve also been pre-making large batches of steel cut oats to have in the morning, so I’m not tempted to pick up a pastry on the way to work or to eat sugary cereal at home!
